Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"It’s a good restaurant, delicious and authentic food, but very small with limited seating. We came here for dinner, and as a widely known restaurant it attracts lots of customers; hence the huge line that greeted us when we went there. When we got inside, the nice staff welcomed us. Food took around 10-15 minutes to arrive, but it was really good"
"Quan Lua Springvale: Authentic Vietnamese Flavors Done Right In my second attempt, I finally found Quan Lua open—and it was absolutely worth the wait! I visited with a friend from Northern Vietnam, and we tried both the Bun Cha and Bun Bo Hue. Her verdict? It’s as close to home as it gets! The Bun Cha featured fresh ingredients, with perfectly grilled pork that had a slight sweetness and a beautiful smoky char. The herbs, vermicelli, and dipping sauce tied everything together perfectly. The Bun Bo Hue was equally impressive, with a rich, savory broth that had just the right kick, packed with tender beef and pork slices. Both dishes were hearty, flavorful, and incredibly filling. For authentic Vietnamese food in Springvale, Quan Lua is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back!"
"Best Bun Cha Hanoi we have tried in Melbourne. Had to wait to get a table but the turnover was quick. Recommend a visit"
"Probably my fave com tam place right now in Melbourne. Anytime the pork is cooked over coal, I’m instantly impressed. The flavour is unmistakable. Kudos to aunty that seated us quickly, gave us children’s cutlery for our kids including scissors without even asking. She just knows. What a boss!"
"Came here on a Sunday night, there is no surcharge for weekends. We ordered spring rolls, Bun Cha Hà Nội, this is the store speciality, Com Tom dac Biet , broken price with pork chop and Banh Hoi which is the betel leaf grilled beef on vermicelli salad. The meats were very well grilled and the char flavour is strong, their dipping sauces are not too sweet and the quantity of each dish is very generous. Their prices are also very reasonable and the overall vibe of the restaurant is a friendly, confident and homely restaurant that welcomes diners like going to a friend’s house for a great meal."
"First visit Sep 2022. Weekend. Understaffed but food amazing. It seems that there's always a queue outside so be ready to wait a while during peak hours. Food is definitely worth the wait though. The pork chop is ridiculous good. Definitely switching to this place next time."
"Ranked as one of the best pork chops in Melbourne, I had to give it a try. Ordered their Southern Vietnamese-style beef salad, charcoal-grilled pork on rice with extra chops, and ice white coffee. This combination was unbeatable. The salad was amazing, and the charcoal aroma from the pork chop was fantastic with great texture. The ice white coffee was just as impressive as other Vietnamese coffees. I'll definitely be returning to try out their other signature items."
"Always has a long queue. Need to beat the dinner line get there early. . Nice smell of pork chop. Tried few items with a star on the menu. Smells, Taste and look good. But the pork chop was a little dry. The salad is definitely good. Will eat again. Not a fan of the crab meat noodle. Good value."
